December 2011 News

We are very fortunate to have all 3 of our 2011 foals on the ground.

As mentioned in October News, Ashadatan Park Chance foaled a very upstanding, showy colt by Wynara Talk of the Town on October 18th.

Our other two mares (who were both maidens) went overdue, Studbook TB 'Illustrious Grace' went overdue by 3.5wks, and was almost in foal for 1 year! Our other mare 'Wynara Lollypop' went 19 days overdue. We were very happy when these foals were finally born.

Illustrious Grace, 15.1hh foaled a gorgeous Bay/Brown Filly, who we named 'Wadelee London Town' (by 'Wynara Talk of the Town'). London is expected to mature 14hh-14.2hh and will be a future superstar Pony Dressage mount as she will stay under height. She will also do very well as a show galloway. And future broodmare she will foal exceptional Pony/TB foals with substance. She is for sale as well, visit our for sale page for details.

Wynara Lollypop, 12hh foaled a stunninng little Pinto Colt! He is exactly like his mother in colouring, yet carries so much of his father's characteristics. We named him 'Wadelee Paint The Town Red' or Red for short. Red will mature around 12hh. We have had lots of interest already for red which is pleasing, as I would love him to go to a competition home who will campaign him not only in dressage and showing, but also in Pinto classes.

All 3 mares with foals at foot have been re-joined to 'Wynara Talk of the Town', we are waiting on positive preg tests and will confirm who is due when, once the info comes to hand.

In other exciting breeding news, our first Warmblood 'Cloud Valley Damzel' has been PTIF to our resident pony stallion W. Talk of the Town, for a late August 2012 foal. This will be a very much sought after quality Pony Dressage pony, with the perfect blend of height and pedigree, a great mixture of Welsh B, Riding Pony, and Hanoverian Warmblood Bloodlines, as well as Arabian blood - to take it's new owners to the top in the Pony Dressage circles. Expressions of interest are invited on this foal, please get in touch. Payment plan also available.

Our remaining mare for the season 'Ironhorse Fontaine' (Grandsire: Olympic Ferro) is due to be served mid-December as we only purchased this new stud broodmare late in the breeding season, and due to show committments of our stallion right in the middle of it all, she missed her november heat cycle. This foal is going to be an absolute SUPERSTAR, carrying direct bloodlines to Olympic Ferro, who was number 1 in the world for Dressage when he was competing.
You can't get much better than that for a Pony Dressage broodmare! This resulting foal will also be offered for sale to serious PD Competition home, so please contact us if you would like to secure this foal.

Wynara Talk of the Town and Wadelee Cartier attended the 2011 SA All Welsh. W. Talk of the Town won his led and ridden PW Stallion class, sadly he was the only one in it this year. There are very few Part Welsh Stallions out and about competing, occasionaly there are some in led classes, but even more rare to see any Part Welsh Stallions competing under saddle. This is testament to W. Talk of the Town's temperament, to be able to be shown under saddle is a credit to him. He went into the Supreme Ridden workout and worked calmly and nicely, I was very proud of him and this was possibly his best workout in an open show ever, with horses cantering in front of and behind him and he did not put a hoof wrong as the class was judged on the circle. His instructor would have been very impressed! He has come home for a break and has quite a hectic Dressage Calendar 2012 so will rest until January when he will be bought back into work and it's full steam ahead with EA Dressage comps. We are training Elementary and will continue to do so, he has such a flair and with more time i'm sure he will be doing half pass and passage no worries.

At SAAW, Wadelee Cartier missed his led class which was very dissapointing, but he was very well behaved all weekend and i'm absolutely thrilled with him. He is booked in for pre-breaking in January, and will be broken to saddle mid 2012. What an exciting PD Youngster, i'm itching to get on!

Until next time... happy riding

Cheers, Jess Herring.

October 2011 News

What can I say.... Let the fun begin!

October started with the Mil-Lel A&H Society Show. This is a fantastic show, such a great atmosphere. Our homebred gelding 'Wadelee Cartier' stole the blue ribbon in his led class from 7 competitors, he is 2yo next month so what a huge achievement for our youngster! He is one to watch in the future, with his daddy's good looks, perfect conformation and huge amount of bling he's a stunner that catches the eye and will be a Pony Dressage and Royal Show champ when he is under saddle.

Wynara Talk of the Town had a great day out, bringing home 2 x =2nds in the Prelim and Novice Dressage and a 3rd in Elementary, his first start at this level. He has the talent and flair for the higher movements, and with further training i'm sure he will be winning!

We were very excited about the arrival of our first foal for the season on October 18th, out of our mare 'Ashadatan Park Chance' and by our resident stallion 'Wynara Talk of the Town'. We named him Toffee or Toff for short, 'Wadelee The Toff In Town'. He is a chestnut colt with bling, and is for sale. Visit our for sale page for more info and secure your future champ today! Available at weaning. His full brother 'Wadelee Cartier' (pictured above) has turned heads wherever he goes, and Toff is sure to do the same.

The stud is now awaiting 2 more foals for the season, by our resident mares 'Wynara Lollypop' and 'Illustrious Grace'. We will post pics and info when they arrive.

Our most exciting purchases for the stud are our two new Warmblood Broodmares 'Ironhorse Fontaine' and 'Cloud Valley Damzel'. Damzel is a Registered Arabian Warmblood, and Fontaine is ACE Classified and assessed. Both mares were originally sold through 'Auction of the Stars' - reflecting their quality and star studded pedigree's. They have both had one foal each, so it is reassuring to know they are both great mothers and ready to be joined this season for 2012 foals. Damzel is due to be preg tested early November for an August foal and Fontaine to be served in November for a September foal. Both foals will be offered for sale, they will make top class performance ponies, purpose bred to WIN! Payment plans may be available, and they will only be sold to competition homes. Contact the stud to register your interest.

Heading towards the end of October, we attended the Mount Gambier A&H Society Spring Show. Our Resident Stallion 'Wynara Talk of the Town' was winner of his led stallion class, then Champion Stallion against 2 other stallions which was great to see, as the Stallion classes are often not very well supported as they are rare as hens teeth these days! Congrats to the other competitors for bringing their Stallions out to compete, it was lovely to see.

We are now rearing to go for the upcoming Welsh shows. It all kicks off with the SA All Welsh at Mt. Pleasant the first weekend of November, then the Victorian All Welsh in Tatura the first week of Decmeber. Results will be posted when they come to hand.

Until next time, happy riding!

Cheers,
Jess @ Wadelee.

September News

Spring is in the air!

Our 3 Resident broodmares 'Illustrious Grace', 'Wynara Lollypop' and 'Ashadatan Park Chance' are due to foal in just a few short weeks to resident stallion Cooper 'Wynara Talk of the Town. We are very excited for his next batch of foals, as our first homebred foal 'Wadelee Cartier' is now a 2yo so it was about time for some more babies. All foals will be offered for sale. They will make superb Pony Dressage mounts, and will also be successful at breed shows and in open competiton. With Cooper's A1 Temperament and fantastic movement they will be sure to bring home some blue ribbons for their new owners. Stay tuned for photos of the foals which are all due in October.

The stud made an exciting purchase last month - it's first Warmblood Broodmare 'Cloud Valley Damzel'. She is a 10yo Arabian Warmblood, she has had a foal to the Horse Deals Stallions issue inside front cover 'Byalee Romance' a couple of years ago, to which she foaled a lovely colt, and we purchased her empty. She was originally sold through Auction of the Stars and this demonstrates her quality and movement. She was served to our 'pocket rocket' Wynara Talk of the Town this week, for a 2012 foal which will be offered for sale. This foal will be at the top of the Pony Dressage leaderboards in the future, and we hope will be successful in the Young Pony Classes. Expressions of interest are invited for this foal and a payment plan may be arranged by negotiation.

Wynara Talk of the Town has been pulled out of the paddock and put back into the Dressage Arena (while serving mares in between) and it's like he never had a day off! I had a break for the birth of my first baby, I foaled a little filly 'Eliza Claire' on Good Friday, April 22nd. She's a 'good doer' and loves her sleep luckily for us. So W. Talk of the Town is enjoying it back out and about doing competitions, we have had a couple of lessons too and he has really matured from having his almost 2 year break. He will be campaigned at this years SA & Vic Welsh Shows, as well as hopefully at the Victorian Dressage Festival. He is available for stud duties this season also, please contact me if you would like to book.

Watch this space for photos of our 2011 Foal crop to be posted as soon as they arrive!

Below is a photo of my daughter in my Saddle at 2wks old, who I think will possibly have a few ponies to ride when she grows up!

Cheers,
April 2011 News

Hi All,

Things have been very busy here on the Graphic Design front. I have recently completed quite a few projects, including A4 Flyers, some lovely Business Cards with a new logo design, new Magnets for a local business, Adverts for National Magazines, Artwork for a brand new business in the Equine Industry and an Email Newsletter.

I have also recently completed more work for a large company that is now exporting all over the world - originally designs were completed in English, and I have now done translation designs in German and Norwegian, with more languages to come!

If you have any Graphic Design job, (no matter how small or large), please contact me for prompt service and very reasonable prices, with an end product you will love! I can get almost anything printed too, so please let me know what you were after and I can give you a price (alternatively, my price list is on my website under the 'graphic design' tab).

As well as Graphic Design, I have recently completed two new websites.
Please click on the below to view them:
www.waynefieldsleatherwork.com.au
and
www.dmegnjohl.com.au

If you after affordable website design (also available with the option to edit the website yourself), I can get this up and running, including Domain Name Purchase, as well as software to monitor your website 'clicks' and statistics. My website designs are functional and look great... with the main aim of attracting new customers top of mind.

The stud is going along nicely, with all mares turned out in foal, our resident Stallion also turned out for winter, and our yearling 'Wadelee Cartier' about to come in for some training preparation for the upcoming show season.

Kind Regards,
Jess Herring
Wadelee Pony Stud ~ Wadelee Graphics
www.wadelee.net

January 2011 News

Wadelee Pony Stud has some exciting news...After hours of teasing & serving back in October / November we are THRILLED to announce that Wynara Talk of the Town (Cooper) has all 3 resident mares in foal!

Wynara Lollypop 11.3hh Pinto Mare

Ashadatan Park Chance 13.1hh Dark Brown Mare (dam of Wadelee Obsession and Wadelee Cartier)

Illustrious Grace 15.1hh Studbook TB Mare

The Wynara Lollypop and Ashadatan Park Chance foals will be offered for sale, expressions of interest invited. I am planning on keeping the Illustrious Grace foal as it will mature Lge Pony / Small Galloway which I plan to show / compete in the future.

At only 12.2hh, Cooper was given a few challenges, with Lollypop being nice and small and Gracie being so big, we enlisted the help of 'the ditch' and Cooper managed to get his technique right for all of the mares and has proven to be a very fertile boy!

Wynara Talk of the Town is relaxing in the paddock over summer, he has a new look - a forelock that is down to his nostrils and is looking quite the welsh B at the moment (and not much like a RP / Show Pony as he does when plaited) This built in fly mask is great and he is loving just being a pony stallion without being ridden (while i'm out of action with my pregnancy).

Wadelee Cartier is growing out well, he has such an in your face temperament, can be caught licking the necks / shoulders / feet of any visitors that go into his paddock, he gallops to the gate and is very friendly. We are thrilled with him, not only his temperament but his spunky good looks, and floaty big movement, and he will commence early breaking as a yearling / 2yo this coming winter once I am back to my normal pre-pregnancy shape and perhaps some spring shows later in the year (time permitting).
He is entered in the 2yo Futurity for the SA Welsh & Riding Pony Youngstock Show, January 2012 so we are looking forward to making the trip to Oakbank for that. His sire was placed 2nd in the same event back in 2006 so hopefully Cartier can go one better and looking forward to competing Pony Dressage on him in the future.

Wadelee Obsession, Acheron Guinevere & Westbury Pinocchio are all residing with Courtney Schleter, who has been riding Guinevere and Pinocchio around the roads, to the beach and generally having a great time trail riding on them over summer. She is planning to attend a few summer shows in the next few weeks and hopefully the weather is not too hot!

Until next time - Happy Horsing!

Illustrious Grace waits patiently for her dinner with a stunning rainbow on the horizon

November News

Courtney Schleter & 'Acheron Guinevere' and 'Westbury Pinocchio' recently attended the SA All Welsh, this year being held at Mt. Pleasant for the first time. I was unable to make it this year due to personal circumstances.

Courtney did a great job with two ponies, going it alone for the weekend. Thankyou to the wonderful people who helped her out where they could, it is very much appreciated, and again, shows the lovely welcoming nature of Welsh People!

Winnie (Acheron Guinevere) did a great job on the led day, winning her Led Welsh Hunter Mare/Filly/Gelding of Section D Breeding from 6 other competitors, then wnning Reserve Champion led welsh hunter all sections. Winnie also won her Welsh Cob Dry Mare 4yrs and u/8 years from 2 other competitors, going on to win Reserve Champion Welsh Cob Mare to the highly successful Victorian section D broodmare, "Indi Zeta Jones".

Oakie (Westbury Pinocchio) won his Led Welsh Hunter Mare/Filly/Gelding of Section C Breeding from 4 other ponies, a top effort for Oakie who has finally matured and is looking fantastic. He also won his Welsh C Gelding class.

On the ridden day, Acheron Guinevere was very kindly ridden by Claire Madil in her Childs Ridden Welsh class, and soon after Winnie sadly pulled up lame. This was dissapointing as Winnie was Reserve Supreme Ridden exhibit of show last year, but oh well, these things happen. Maybe next year will be their year.

Westbury Pinocchio attended his 3rd ever ridden show under saddle, and proved the Welsh Temperament on the ridden day by doing a super job, very kindly ridden by Claire Madil and proving to be fun and no fuss for her, as this was her first time on the pony. He won both of his ridden classes, and was Champion section C, he went into the Supreme class but as we would expect of a 4yo pony with only his 3rd ridden show under saddle, he will probably need at least another year under saddle to be a serious contender. He is just a star in the making!

Wadelee Cartier had his first trip out on his own in the float, we went to Millicent show for two led classes. He got a 2nd and a 3rd but was very well behaved and impeccably presented. He won to more mature ponies but for an 11 month old he looked amazing and was just a gem. Carter will possibly be attending the Dartmoor Show led day for his last outing until I am back in action again next year. He is maturing well, and is already wearing his Sire 'Wynara Talk of the Town''s entire rug wardrobe, so he is certanly growing out nicely and I'm hoping he will make a super Large Pony gelding under saddle.

~ Jessica Herring.

September News

After a few cold months, it's finally SPRING!

Westbury Pinocchio is currently in work and last weekend was ridden by an inexperienced rider as well as some small children for pony rides, and didn't put a foot wrong! He will be a successful, quiet and very talent performance pony in the future - watch this space!

Resident Stallion Wynara Talk of the Town has commenced his breeding duties, having served 15.1hh TB Mare "Illustrious Grace", and we are waiting for the other two mares "Ashadatan Park Chance" and "Wynara Lollypop" to come into season. Cooper will be a busy boy attending to all the girls and is enjoying his change of scenery on the block where the mares live.

Wadelee Cartier is looking fantastic, he's really grown and filled out in the last few months. Carter is still sporting his 'winter woolies'... hopefully the coat will shift soon! We are planning to mouth him and start training him up to be lunged over the warmer months, and get to a few shows as well.

Acheron Guinevere and Courtney Schleter have also had a bit of a break after their success at the SA Pony Dressage Challenge. Winnie is slowly being brought back into work where time permits, and was pulled out of the paddock recently to attend the SHC Hack show in Mt. Gambier. Winnie was Supreme Ridden in the Non-EFA ring, a huge buzz for Courtney and a bit of a spur on to know that Winnie has what it takes to go to the top this show season, as she's really matured this year and setting into her work well and they are both looking amazing.

Goodluck to everyone for the upcoming show season... and will see you out and about soon

Jess Herring.

There's not too much happening at the Stud at the moment, the ponies are all turned out for Winter, except for Westbury Pinocchio, who is coming along nicely under saddle.

Everyone has had their feet trimmed, and we will be getting the Dentist also within the next month before things get too busy with breeding season.

There are 3 mares to serve this year, all owned by the stud, so this is very exciting! Wynara Talk of the Town will be most pleased, as he is just grazing in the paddock with a gelding and will be thrilled to see some ladies!

I went to the Casterton Kelpie Muster yesterday, it was great fun as always, and I even got to cuddle this gorgeous Kelpie Pup!

~ Jesica Herring ~

May Stud News

May was a VERY busy month, with Wadelee Cartier taking to his first Foal Shows. We attended 3 x foal shows in Adelaide, the SA Welsh Foal Show, EA SA Gala Foal show and the SARP Foal Show.

Carter had some great results, with 1 Championship and 2 x Reserve Championships for 3 shows.

Judges commented on his lovely, ground covering movement, and how well he carries himself and his lovely rhythm. This was nice to hear, especially for his future in Pony Dressage!

Carter is now out in the paddock to grow up after being such a lovely, well behaved foal for the foal shows.

~ Jess Herring ~
